Sword of the Spirit--Ephesians 6:17

We all remember seeing the sign 'live-love-laugh' everywhere for a time. As Christ-followers, the Holy Spirit guides us how to live, shows us ways to love, and enables us to learn God's way for us.
When we read our Bible each day, we will see that God's Word is alive and never dull. We need to keep in the Word, letting it soak deep into our roots. Scripture balanced with Scripture brings the needed balance we long for in our hectic, pressured lives. Prayer is essential in how we use our "sword." Continual conversation with God (prayer) gives us instructions on how to use our sword in the way God desires us to use it.
God's will, not our own. Too often I am hoping I can find a Scripture to support what I am asking, but God is wise and will hear my prayer but answer it in the way He knows is best.
My prayerful use of the sword should be asking God for what He thinks, what is His heart, which way is His will, and then walk with Him step by step.
"The Word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword. It penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints, and marrow. The Word of God judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart." Hebrews 4:12
"The Word of God is like a lion. You don't have to defend a lion. All you have to do is let the lion loose, and the lion will defend itself." --Charles Spurgeon

"Don't step out of God's will to do God's will." --Warren Wiersbe
One day, a young teenage girl found a deliberately torn-up, ripped-up, and cut-up Bible thrown at (what seemed to be) her direction. Her heart felt broken for the one who threw the Bible away in such anger and for the beautiful leather-bound engraved gifted Bible in such a state. She did not have any money nor really remembered where all the tape came from, but sitting on the floor in her bedroom, she began to do the best she could with taping up the cut-up pages. The tape never ran out.
Years later, this same Bible had been kept by her brother who saw all that had happened. Still with all the tape and repairs the Bible was treasured none the less. God's Word is alive and true. The love that taped all those pages, taking what seemed like hours to do, was nurtured by God and seen by someone else. Someone has said that we might be the only Bible someone may ever read. We have to know our Bibles to be a Bible for someone to "read."
"The more you read the Bible, and the more you meditate upon it, the more you will be astonished with it. He who is but a casual reader of the Bible does not know the height, depth, length, and breadth of the mighty meanings contained in its pages." -
-Charles Spurgeon
