Helmet of Salvation--Ephesians 6:17

"We fight from victory, not for victory!" --Warren Wiersbe
The helmet of salvation is a vital piece to our daily armor and must intentionally be put on through our choice to honor God in all we do. All our heart, mind, soul, and strength have a singular purpose to glorify God and to do God's will.
We must have a mindset of victory through Jesus. We cannot do this on our own. We do not have to be on this planet very long to realize that while we wish we had complete control, we do not. Any toddlers in the house? We grow and realize how fragile we are and how our world can change in instant. (Please keep all those who have lost loved ones and are facing devastation from the tornados. Two organizations I support that are on the ground now helping people both immediate qnd long term are Convoy of Hope and Samaratin's Purse Disaster Relief.)
There is no neutral ground. Life is hard. As our Pastor Barry said yesterday in church, "We can do hard with God, or we can do hard without God." God is with us step by step of our lives. Our mindset needs to remember all He has done for us. Our outlook effects our outcome (W. Wiersbe). We can remember how Jesus has saved us from our own hard ways and has brought us into His forever family. One day, we will trade in our helmet for a crown.
Are you feeling a little tired today? Weary? Depressed? Alone? Let's put on our helmet of salvation remembering God's hand in our life. Read the Scriptures (Psalms maybe?) and listen to God speaking personally. Pray and pour out our hearts to God and be looking for Him as He guides us one step at a time. Just do the next thing--in His strength. Beware of division, deception, doubt, and discouragement. Helmets are vital now, but temporary. The crown we will receive when we go Home will be forever. Nothing can separate us from God's love.
"In all these things, we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 8:37-39
Claim God's promises.
Enjoy God's power.
Share God's victory. --W Wiersbe
